Captain Ryan Watson with the Houston Police Department said the operation took place at the Mambo’s Sports Bar located at 6505 Antoine Drive.

“We’ve had several complaints from neighbors - neighboring apartments, there’s a church nearby - and they say that this place is staying open ‘til five, six in the morning. The parking lot is consistently packed every night, and patrons are leaving here intoxicated, causing accidents and disturbances in the parking lot,” Capt. Watson said.

Police said the establishment has been operating for “some time,” and that officers regularly have to respond to criminal incidents at the location.

Capt. Watson said Houston’s After Hours Task Force was called in for a full enforcement response from multiple agencies, such as the Houston Fire Marshal’s Office and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Law enforcement arrested two people, a manager and a server, for allegedly serving alcohol during prohibited hours, a misdemeanor charge.

“A comprehensive investigation will be done, and there will be additional charges on the back end as well,” Capt. Watson said. “The Texas Comptroller’s Office will be looking at general business licenses, taxes, and there will be penalties on the back end for that as well.”

HPD said you can report after-hours clubs to their Vice Division at (713) 308-8600.
