A 17-year-old Lamar High School student is in custody after being charged with arson in connection with a fire set inside the school building.

Court records show Jesus Romero-Lopez was charged with felony arson.

According to court documents, the charge stems from allegedly igniting a fire inside the school building. Additional details about the extent of the damage have not been released.

Romero-Lopez is currently in custody with bond set at $40,000.
