Taco truck owner shot and killed in Houston

Police say a taco truck owner was shot and killed around 11:30 p.m. last night while closing up shop. Surveillance video shows two men wearing ski masks leaving the scene on Dyna and Airline.

July 4th Hill Country flood 911 calls to be released

This morning, officials are expected to release more than 400 9-1-1 calls from the July 4th floods in the Texas Hill Country. Many of the calls were made while people were trying to get to safety.

Grand jury rejects indictment against NY Attorney General

In Virginia, a grand jury has rejected the Justice Department’s effort to secure an indictment against New York Attorney General Letitia James. The ruling comes less than two weeks after the original criminal case, in which James was indicted on one charge of bank fraud and making false statements, was dismissed.

Supreme Court clears Texas congressional map

The Supreme Court has allowed Texas to use a new congressional map for next year’s midterms, overruling a lower court that called the map unlawful. Critics said Republican lawmakers, with guidance from the Trump administration, factored race into the redistricting plan.

Appeals court allows National Guard to stay in D.C.

A federal appeals court has allowed the National Guard to remain deployed in Washington, D.C., at least for now. The justices froze a lower court decision that would have required the troops to leave, giving the court more time to consider the ruling.
