KPRC 2 Toy Drive benefiting BEAR: Here’s how you can help bring joy to children in need this holiday season.

Donate new, unwrapped toys through December 15. Every donation helps a child in foster care or in a CPS-involved home.

Last year, the BEARing Gifts toy drive spread holiday cheer to more than 29,000 children in need across the Greater Houston area. This year, the need has increased significantly. With your help, we can make sure every child in need has a new toy this holiday season.

BEAR stands for Be a Resource. The organization provides comfort items and necessities for children in foster care or those in families requiring the involvement of Child Protective Services (CPS). When children are entering the foster care system, they typically have the clothes on their backs and not much more. BEAR’s warehouse in Houston’s Garden Oaks area gives caseworkers items to help children in these critical situations. BEAR provides things like new clothing, diapers, hygiene items, duffel bags, toys, car seats and more.

Here is how you can help:

KPRC 2 has partnered with Nava Law Group and American Furniture Warehouse to collect toys benefiting BEAR’s BEARing Gifts program. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy at one of the locations below. Or you can make a monetary donation or purchase directly through BEAR’s Amazon wishlist.

  • Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • 4909 Bissonnet St #100, Bellaire

American Furniture Warehouse (three locations)

  • 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • 500 Pin Oak Road, Katy
  • 21501 Gulf Freeway, Webster
  • 12310 Interstate 45 S, Conroe

KPRC 2

  • 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • 8181 Southwest Freeway, Houston

Come drop off new, unwrapped toys to help families in need. Every item received will directly benefit children in the Greater Houston community.
