3 suspects arrested after shooting of Houston PD officer during road rage incident

HOUSTON, Texas – The 23-year-old man accused of shooting a Houston police officer during an alleged road rage incident has been arrested and charged.

Homero Reyes has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond has been set at $60,000 after appearing in court on Sunday.

Two others were also arrested and charged. Cristian Yosely Marquez, 33, and 22-year-old Diego Rosales.

Rosales is charged with with unlawful carry of a weapon, and Marquez is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

What Happened?

On Saturday, Nov. 22, Houston Police Department Officer Jake Parker was driving his personal vehicle, headed to work, when he got into an altercation with the driver of another vehicle on Gessner Road.

The driver of the vehicle, assumed to be Reyes, started shooting at Officer Parker, hitting him in the shoulder. Officer Parker also discharged his weapon, but did not hit any of the suspects.

Officer Parker then drove himself to the northwest police station, where he was transported to the hospital.

Officers located Reyes’ vehicle and arrested him and the other two suspects.
