HOUSTON – An 18-year-old former Alief ISD student who allegedly brought a sledgehammer to school in April is now wanted for allegedly threatening to kill the assistant principal who called the police on her over the hammer incident.
Asha Bare, 18, was charged Monday with terroristic threat. She has not been arrested.
According to court records, Bare called an Alief Police Department dispatcher in early November and said she had a bullet for “that lesbian gay b**** head,” referring to an assistant principal at Alief Taylor High School.
Bare told the dispatcher it was because the assistant principal had called the police on her and ruined her future when she brought a sledgehammer to school.
Alief ISD told KPRC 2 Bare ran to a private parking lot in late April and began hitting and damaging vehicles after retrieving a hammer from a parked vehicle, before being restrained by officers.
She was not enrolled in the district as a student when the threats began earlier this month, according to an Alief ISD spokesperson.
Investigators wrote in court documents that Bare said she would get an Uber to the school, walk inside the campus, go to the assistant principal’s office, and “stab her to death.”
She continued making threats days later that included statements like “I will come there and kill you and all your coworkers,” and “Send the police to get me so I can stab them too,” according to records.
Some of the alleged threats were also made on social media and in emails to staff members.
Records showed the assistant principal had been in fear for her life and didn’t immediately return to campus. Alief ISD says the assistant principal did return to work the same week of the incident.
Bare, who doesn’t have a criminal history in Harris County, lives in Richmond, according to records. Any information that could lead to her arrest should be reported to law enforcement.
