La Porte man accused of firing gun at two adults, arrested after SWAT standoff

LA PORTE, Texas – A man is in custody after police say he fired a gun during a domestic disturbance, then barricaded himself inside a La Porte home Thursday evening.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the 11600 block of N. P Street.
According to La Porte police , 42-year-old Christopher Clinton Hinds fired a handgun at two adults outside the residence before running inside. No injuries were reported.
Police established a perimeter and called in the Bay Area Regional SWAT team. After several hours, Hinds was taken into custody without further incident.
Hinds is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. He was booked into the La Porte Jail and is awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail.
