After dropping two straight games to the Los Angeles Angels, the Houston Astros ended the four-game series on a high note with an 8-3 victory in the finale.
Houston’s offense was strong throughout the game, finishing with 12 hits. Jeremy Peña, Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, Ramón Urías, and Cam Smith each recorded two hits. Altuve and Urías also contributed home runs.

The Astros scored in five of the first six innings and added three insurance runs in the eighth inning to seal the win.

Right-handed pitcher Luis Garcia made his first start of the season, pitching six innings. He allowed three hits and three runs, walked none, and struck out six, earning the win for Houston.
With the victory, the Astros improved to 76-62 on the season and now hold a three-game lead over the Seattle Mariners in the AL West.
Houston will host the New York Yankees tomorrow to start a three-game series. Framber Valdez is scheduled to pitch for the Astros against New York’s Max Fried. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
