Miami also acquired infielder Chase Jaworsky and outfielder Esmil Valencia in the deal.
Jesús Sánchez first signed with the Tampa Bay Rays as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2014. He made his debut in 2020 with Miami and has been a key contributor to the Marlins since 2022.
In 2025, he has a .256 batting average with 10 homeruns and 36 RBI.
The move adds to a list of deals the ‘Stros have made in the closing hours of the MLB Trade Deadline. After trading for Baltimore Orioles’ third baseman Ramon Urias last night, the team executed a blockbuster trade for shortstop Carlos Correa Thursday afternoon.
