Astro for a day: Spring boy gets wish granted by Houston Astros, Make-A-Wish

HOUSTON – The Houston Astros teamed up with Make-A-Wish to make a Spring 12-year-old’s dream of being signed to the team for a day come true.

Prior to Wednesday’s game against the Phillies, the team signed Jaydon Medina, a boy living with liver disease to the team.

Jaydon has been passionate about baseball since he was a toddler and is a devoted Astros fan.

Before the game, Astros General Manager Dana Brown signed Jaydon to the team for the day and also presented him with a signed Yordan Alvarez baseball bat and jersey.

“It means a lot to be able to see him fulfill a wish that he’s had since he was little so I’m proud of him, words can’t describe how happy I am for him,” his mother, Olga Medina said.

Jaydon also got to meet players, including Yordan Alvarez.

“Back whenever I was a little kid, I would always watch the Astros at home and here, so it just means a lot because this was my wish, just to come to an Astros game and sign a contract,” Jaydon said.
