HOUSTON – Houston police say a person was shot to death Tuesday night at a McDonald’s parking lot in Greenspoint.

It happened a little after 10:30 p.m. when investigators say an unidentified victim walked over to the restaurant on Imperial Valley Drive.
Preliminary evidence shared by Houston police is that there was an ongoing issue between the victim and the gunman. They didn’t disclose what the dispute was, though.
A fight broke out, and a gun was pulled out, and HPD Lt. R. Willkens said the victim was shot several times. Investigators said he ran to nearby apartments for help. He was found with gunshot wounds in his arms and chest and rushed to a hospital, but died from his injuries.
While initial investigations led investigators to believe an employee of the McDonald’s was involved in the shooting, further clarification showed that to be inaccurate.

“We were devastated to learn about this tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim and their family. The safety and security of our employees and customers is our top priority. We’re continuing to work closely with local law enforcement to help with their investigation,” Hazel Smith, the owner and operator of the McDonald’s location said.
Houston police say the shooter has not been arrested as of this writing, but because they know who the gunman is, he may be in custody soon.
