A scared dog stranded on the rocks near the Lake Conroe Dam was safely rescued Thursday morning thanks to the Conroe Fire Department and a helpful community effort.
According to the department, Engine 6 responded after a boater reported seeing the dog but left before crews arrived. With the help of the San Jacinto River Authority, firefighters used a UTV to access the dam due to ongoing construction.

Firefighter Fell spotted the frightened dog, carried her to safety, and began searching Facebook for any lost pet posts. He quickly found one from the dog’s owner, made contact, and reunited the pup, named Zoey, with her family at Station 6.
Zoey’s family later shared their gratitude on Facebook, calling the community’s support a blessing and thanking firefighters for bringing their sweet girl home.
