Rapper Boston Richey, whose real name is Jalen Taheen Foster, is facing charges after being accused of assaulting his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Tatiana “Chanell” Charles, outside a Houston nightclub in late March.

According to court documents, Charles says the 28-year-old rapper attacked her outside an event at 806 Main Street on March 30, 2025. While her age isn’t listed in the documents, an Instagram post shows she turned 18 in January last year. She claims the incident began with an argument over a phone and escalated when Richey allegedly choked her multiple times inside a car.

She told police he used both hands and, on two occasions, even his knee and body weight to restrict her breathing.

The altercation, which reportedly lasted nearly two hours, left Charles feeling like she was going to die. She says she vomited in the car and may have lost consciousness.

The rapper also allegedly threatened her, saying, “If you call police I might as well kill you.”

Charles told officers that she is four to eight weeks pregnant and that Richey was aware of the pregnancy at the time of the assault. She has since pressed charges for Assault Family Violence - Impeding Breathing, a felony offense in Texas.

A viral video appears to show part of the confrontation—Richey can be seen snatching something from Charles and lunging toward her before bystanders intervene.

In a personal statement posted to social media, Charles opened up about the emotional toll of the incident.

“While pregnant, I was physically assaulted and choked by my former boyfriend Jalen, aka Boston Richey. This experience has been traumatic and heartbreaking beyond words. I want to be clear—I do not condone, support, or excuse any form of domestic violence. No one deserves to be hurt, especially during such a vulnerable time.”

She also asked for privacy as she focuses on her healing and the safety of her future.

Richey has since posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2025.
