“There have been similar calls in the region. Out of an abundance of caution, law enforcement is investigating. However, we believe this may be related to a swatting call and not a legitimate threat,” MCTX Sheriff’s Office wrote in a social media post.

This threat came hours after the Brazoria County courthouse was evacuated Thursday morning due to a bomb threat.
Several law enforcement agencies responded to the threat, including the Houston FBI.
The all-clear was eventually given, but officials said the courthouse would remain closed for the remainder of Thursday.
Officials believe the Woodlands Mall bomb threat and the Brazoria County courthouse bomb threat could be a part of a series of “swatting” calls.
