HCSO investigating fatal crash after man hit and killed on Hwy. 6

WEST HARRIS COUNTY – A man is dead after he was hit and killed by a car, while trying to cross the road, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say around 9:30 Friday night, a 70-year-old woman was driving north on Highway 6 near Bellaire Boulevard in West Harris County, when she struck a person who was crossing the highway.

The man died at the scene. The sheriff’s office says the man was in his 50’s or 60’s.

Investigators say the driver remained at the scene following the crash and did not appear to be speeding or intoxicated.

The investigation is ongoing.
