Houston Police say 17-year-old Joshua Garcia has been charged with murder in connection to the death of Abraham Choukair.
Choukair was found shot to death in the driver’s seat of a parked car outside of an apartment complex on July 20, 2024 in the 8800 block of Hammerly Blvd.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Choukair had been seen talking to a female suspect shortly before the shooting. The girl was followed by an unknown male suspect, later identified as Garcia.
Both suspects fled the scene, with surveillance footage capturing Garcia running further into the apartment complex alongside the female.
In October, the female suspect, a teenage girl, was arrested in connection to the shooting. Her identity was not released because of her age. She was charged with capital murder.
Garcia was formally charged in September 5.
