Carjacking victim uses cell phone to track down car stolen from Houston convenience store Houston police two people were injured in the carjacking and shooting overnight

Southeast Houston  – A man who had his car stolen from a convenience store  on MLK Boulevard in southeast Houston was able to track it down using his own cell phone signal, according to the Houston Police Department .
Investigators say the man reported the car stolen around 7:00 p.m. Friday at the convenience store on MLK Boulevard and Bellfort Avenue . 
Police said the carjacking  victim was able to track down the vehicle because he left his cell phone inside of it. He used another vehicle to locate the car. 
When he confronted the suspected carjacker, investigators say there was a fight and gunfire erupted . Two people were shot but are expected to recover. A third vehicle believed to be tied to the original carjacking left the scene, according to police.
The carjacking victim returned to the convenience store location in another vehicle, where police said they found him in possession of narcotics.
