HOUSTON – The May derecho and Hurricane Beryl both packed powerful winds that left utility poles all across Southeast Texas leaning or even blown over.
Since the storms, one of the most common questions we receive at KPRC 2 is for help getting CenterPoint to fix a leaning or damaged utility pole.

We asked CenterPoint Energy what’s the proper way to report the problem to ensure that crews are able to make it out to address your problem.
Here’s the official response from CenterPoint Energy:
“Safety is our top priority, and we urge customers to always stay at least 35 feet away from downed power lines and damaged electric utility equipment and report issues to the company at 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143.
Our customer service team will take the report, provide safety information and a crew will be dispatched to the customer’s location as soon as possible to evaluate the issue and address their concern.”
If you continue to have issues, you can let KPRC 2 know by sharing your information on our KRPC 2 Help Desk.
