‘Get out of the race now’: Package containing noose, threatening message sent to Mayor of Arcola

ARCOLA, Texas – An investigation is underway after the Mayor of Arcola received a “threatening package” on Tuesday that contained a noose and a message telling him to withdraw from the May 4 mayoral race.
Package sent to the Arcola, TX Mayor (KPRC/Click2Houston.com) The Arcola Police Department posted on their Facebook page:
Earlier today, Mayor Burton received a threatening package that included a noose and a message telling him to withdraw from the race. This threat is being treated with the utmost seriousness and the Arcola Police Department has requested assistance from the FBI in investigating this criminal act.
