“It’s like living in limbo, living in an alternate universe. Life goes on but at the same time you are still standing still,” said Duncan.
The Harris County Sheriff’s office said Valeesha arrived to her home near the intersection of Appletree Hill Ln and Barkers Forest at about 5:00 a.m.
on August 17, 2021.
Shortly after, a dark-colored sedan pulled up out front and began shooting. Investigators said about 50 total rounds were fired and Valeesha was hit numerous times.
“She made it all the way in her garage and the garage was shut and she was still on the phone with one of her girlfriends and she told the girl she had been shot,” Duncan said.
Duncan is hoping someone with information will come forward and help investigators solve her daughter’s case.
“I wouldn’t describe it as pain, I would describe it as anger, frustration, no understanding of how you can take someone’s life and you just keep living your life like absolutely nothing,” said Duncan.
If you have any information about the case you can reach out to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
