From community centers to local restaurants, free turkey giveaways are popping up across Houston as the holiday approaches.
Houston Texans & Kroger Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway: The Houston Texans and Kroger are teaming up to provide 1,000 Thanksgiving meal kits to Houston families on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. Distribution will take place at the Kroger Gate at NRG Stadium (8825 Kirby Dr.). Each kit includes a turkey, canned vegetables, boxed sides, cranberry sauce, and desserts donated by Texans players. Attendees should enter through Gate 9 to receive a redemption voucher before proceeding to the Kroger Gate, where staff will load meals directly into vehicles. Distribution is drive-thru only and available while supplies last.
Community Turkey Giveaway: The Law Office of Cherika Edwards will host its annual turkey giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 6464 Savoy Drive, Suite 465, in Southwest Houston. Beginning at 10 a.m., the firm will distribute 100 free turkeys, canned goods, and offer attendees a chance to win a $50 H-E-B gift card. The event is first-come, first-served and will continue while supplies last.
The Dub Way Foundation Fall Festival & Turkey Giveaway: The Dub Way Foundation invites the community to a fun-filled Fall Festival and Turkey Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Hunters Glen Park (1340 Independence Blvd.). Guests can enjoy free food, drinks, music, games, and vendors while supplies last, as well as receive a turkey for the holiday season.
Peachez Community Turkey Giveaway: Peachez is hosting its annual Community Turkey Giveaway on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon, with a goal of blessing 500 Houston families with a turkey and a bag of holiday fixings. Community donations are now being accepted at Peachez and Daiquiri Land to help fill the non-perishable food bags that will accompany each turkey. Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to join as sponsors or partners to support families in need this season.
District F Turkey Distributions: Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas is partnering with Alief ISD and Houston ISD to provide 300 turkeys to families facing food insecurity and recent SNAP benefit interruptions. Turkeys will be distributed at two events: Wednesday at LeRoy Crump Stadium (12321 High Star Dr.) from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 21, at Emerson Elementary School (9533 Skyline Dr.) at 3:30 p.m. The additional turkeys from District F will supplement the 150 provided by each school district.
D Wash Family Foundation Annual Turkey Drive: The D Wash Family Foundation will host its annual Turkey Drive Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 9 a.m. and running until all food has been distributed. The drive-thru event will take place at Thurgood Marshall High School, 1220 Buffalo Run in Missouri City. Each vehicle will receive one turkey, and guests are asked to remain in their cars with trunks open for loading. Each year, the foundation provides holiday support to families in the community, helping ensure more households can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
Ivan’s 5th Annual Not Your Average Turkey & Sides Giveaway: Ivan is hosting his fifth annual Thanksgiving community event on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Puttery (1818 Washington Ave., Suite 180). Families can pick up free turkeys, hams, and holiday sides while enjoying a full lineup of complimentary activities, including mini golf, a pre-entry breakfast, a pop-up grocery store, health and mental health screenings, a photobooth, caricatures, raffles, vendors, and more. All activities are free and open to the public. Houston Car Meets is supporting the effort alongside and Hugs In A Blanket.
Taste Budzzz Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway: Houston’s Taste Budzzz Sports Bar and Grill will host its first annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at 5204 Yale St., Houston, TX 77091. Free turkeys will be distributed to local families on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is sponsored by Loretta Perez and supported by community partners, including The Acres Home Chamber for Business and Economic Development, Cruise Control M/C, Booker T. Washington High School, and Brazos School for Inquiry and Creativity. Donations are welcome to help serve more households.

Nan & Company Properties Senior Thanksgiving Donation: Nan & Company Properties is partnering with the City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods to provide 100 turkeys and Thanksgiving food boxes to seniors in Districts I and H. The donation event will take place tomorrow at the company’s office at 725 Yale St., where staff and city partners will assemble and distribute the holiday packages. Although the event is not open to the public, the initiative aims to highlight the ongoing support for Houston’s senior community during the Thanksgiving season.
