Houston, Texas – Rhonda Kaiser has turned a lifelong dream into a hands-on guide for lovers of charming, livable outdoor spaces. In her new book, The Vintage Farmhouse Garden, Kaiser blends vintage charm with farmhouse style to help beginners and seasoned gardeners alike create warm, inviting areas—from cozy garden nooks to welcoming porches and seasonal displays.
The book is full of simple, practical ideas: how to choose the right indoor plants, decorate entertaining spaces both inside and out, grow kitchen herbs, and design floral arrangements using real and faux blooms. Kaiser’s approachable style makes timeless beauty feel achievable, whether you’re styling a small patio or planning a full garden refresh.
A Katy native and Texas A&M graduate, Kaiser studied Agricultural Economics and Landscape Design at Texas A&M and later interior design at the Art Institute of Houston. She’s also a certified Master Gardener — completing the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s 60-hour in-class training and contributing 50+ hours of volunteer work in demonstration gardens, plant sales, and public outreach. Her work has been featured in numerous home and design magazines and at garden shows across the region.
Kaiser’s love of flowers and vintage finds began while working at her husband’s grandmother’s flower shop in Bishop, Texas. That early experience inspired a lifelong passion for gardening and floral design—and eventually led to meeting her husband Jared (a story traced back to a Katy High School theater class photo from 1988). She credits the support of family—her father, uncle, father-in-law, husband, and daughter—for helping bring the book to life.
Now living in a farmhouse complete with a greenhouse, Kaiser is also launching the Southern Home and Farm Signature Collection online. The new shop features a curated mix of modern pieces, unique vintage finds, handcrafted pottery, and hand-poured candles made in Houston. To celebrate the launch, customers can take 10% off orders with code Houston Life (note: the discount excludes items in the vintage category).
