Girls Golf Club Houston: Building Community One Swing at a Time

Houston, TexasThe Girls Golf Club, is a women’s social golf community, teeing up new friendships, confidence, and connections.

The Houston chapter was founded by Nicole Horst, who also started a club in Orange County, California. Originally from New York, Nicole has lived in Houston for 15 years and works in the construction industry—another male-dominated field. She first picked up the game as a way to join business outings, but her passion quickly grew. What started as a small Facebook group has now blossomed into a thriving community of local golfers.

Girls Golf Club Houston hosts regular meetups at driving ranges, courses, clinics, and even indoor simulators. The goal is simple: to make golf more accessible, inclusive, and fun for women of all skill levels. For many members, the connections made off the course are just as valuable as the skills learned on it.

One of those members is Brooke Flanagan, a Houston photographer, wife, and mom of two. She and Nicole are also teaming up on a new podcast, Her Tee Time, launching September 5. The show will blend golf conversations with stories of community, women in sports, and plenty of laughs.

Whether you’re a beginner looking for tips or an experienced player hoping to expand your circle, Girls Golf Club is offering a new way to experience the game—and proving golf is about more than just the scorecard.
