Houston Children’s Clothing Swap Helps Families Prep for Back-to-School

Houston, Texas – Just in time for the new school year, the Houston Clothing Swap is hosting a Children’s Clothing Swap on Sunday, August 3rd, offering a budget-friendly and sustainable way for families to refresh their kids’ wardrobes. Held at 2000 Edwards St., Houston, TX 77007, the event runs from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with entry time slots available throughout the day.

“We’re all just very passionate about sustainability, so that clothing doesn’t end up in a landfill. There are so many clothes that exist on the planet, we can clothe the next 6 generations of people,” co-founder of Conscious Consumer Collective (CCC), Sam Lopez said.

This community-driven swap allows families to bring as many or as few children’s items as they’d like in exchange for unlimited clothing — all for just $10 per adult (ages 13 and up). Children 12 and under get in free. The last swaps have seen growing numbers, and it’s a testament to people wanting better for the planet according to Diana Cwick, another co-founder of CCC.

“Honestly, I think people just get it, there’s a community that has been formed as well,” Cwick said.

Whether you’re looking to donate clothing your kids have outgrown or find gently used clothes for the school year, this event is a great way to save money, reduce waste, and support other families in need.

“Our mission is to have multiple locations. We want people to have easier access to come to us,” Raquel Sandate, 3rd co-founder of CCC, said.
