HOUSTON – Talk about a SLAM DUNK!
The Houston Rockets and Reliant are once again teaming up to host their third annual Back-to-School Bash in partnership with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
This year’s event, which is open to the public, will be at Moody Community Center featuring a backpack giveaway and a distribution of school supplies for up to 1,000 students.
And these backpacks are loaded up - each one containing necessary school supplies, food vouchers from Chick-fil-A and Pizza Hut, while Aquafina has donated water to be provided throughout the event.
Rockets Legend Steve Francis will make an appearance alongside the team’s gameday entertainers -- plus there will be basketball clinics, back-to-school health screenings from Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and the Houston Health Department will offer eye screenings through its “See to Succeed” program.
But that’s not all! The Back-to-School Bash will also offer students the opportunity to receive a free haircut from Franklin Beauty Institute, and Sparkle Spa Bus will be on hand to provide their mobile spa services without charge.
There will also be inflatables, other interactive education and entertainment stations, carnival-style activities, face painters, food, drinks, prizes and more!
