HOUSTON – Meet Texan comedian Jerry Wayne Longmire. He’s from East Texas and considers Houston his home. He grew up with his father, who worked in a junkyard. Longmire worked many trade jobs, including owning a construction company in Montgomery County, which he sold in 2019, trading his hard hat for the comedy stage.
Then the pandemic hit, and Longmire shifted to creating humorous content on Facebook. If you’re familiar with his content, you may have seen his popular series “Astrology Trucks,” featuring him critiquing old trucks.
Cars are a family passion for Longmire. Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, or Papaw, he created a podcast called “The Reckon Yard.” The show captures authentic Texas stories about his relationships, upbringing, and the junkyard lessons that shaped his comedy career.
His down-to-earth comedy resonates with audiences, drawing from his Southern, blue-collar experiences. His recent viral hit, where he reads an electric bill in the style of a Southern literary novel, garnered millions of views across Facebook and Instagram. Watch the reel here.
Longmire is a true content creator, strategically posting videos that entertain his audience on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
Catch Longmire live in person and off-screen at Punch Line Houston this Saturday, July 5. Shows begin at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. General admission tickets are $32, with VIP tickets available for $43.
