HOUSTON – Imagine playing golf for a full 24 hours. That’s exactly what Kyle Cokinos just did in Houston’s Fifth Ward. With the downtown skyline as his backdrop, the endurance athlete and native Houstonian started on the course at East River 9 at 6pm Monday, June 23rd and continued through 6pm Tuesday, June 24th. By 5:30am, nearly 12 hours in, he had played 421 holes, breaking the world record for the longest game of golf.
But he kept going, pushing through to reach the 24 hour mark and being officially recognized by a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records.
In addition to breaking a world record, Kyle’s goal is to help raise $100k to support the non-profit Camp Aranzazu, an inclusive camp near Rockport, Texas, that allows campers of all ages and abilities to enjoy accessible, empowering, and intentional camp experiences.
