Rising Star Beatriz Gonzalez is redefining mariachi and ‘corridos’ for a New Generation

Houston, Texas Beatriz Gonzalez, the heartfelt, cultural, and profound voice from Donna, Texas, has carved out a space for herself as one of the rising stars in Latin music today. Born with a natural talent for mariachi, Beatriz started singing at the age of 3 and has since become a multi-faceted artist blending tradition with innovation.

A former folklórico dancer, Beatriz began recording professionally at 20 with a sound rooted in Tejano, Grupero, and urban influences. Her big break came in 2014 when she was signed by a California-based label; but it was a spontaneous 2017 video of her singing at Mi Tierra Café in San Antonio that catapulted her to viral fame. The moment sparked a new chapter in her career—one dedicated to mariachi music and a deeper connection to her roots.

Since then, Beatriz has amassed over 283K YouTube subscribers, 27.6 million views in 2024 alone, and over a million hours of listening time. Her fan base is mostly in Mexico, the U.S., and Chile, proving that her music transcends borders and cultures.

Beyond her vocal talent, Beatriz is an accomplished musician who plays the guitar, vihuela, percussion, and keyboard. She’s also a self-taught nail tech and makeup artist, showcasing her creative spirit in every area of her life. Whether performing at major venues like Houston’s Miller Outdoor Theatre for Vozes y Recuerdos—a tribute to Selena and women in Tejano—or singing at private events, she continues to expand her reach. She even launched her own label, Palabra Records.

Beatriz is especially groundbreaking as a woman in the traditionally male-dominated genre of corridos. These narrative ballads, often associated with the voice of a Mexican man, are being reimagined through her lens. As part of a new wave of female corridistas, Beatriz is not just breaking barriers—she’s rewriting them.

When she’s not on stage, she’s on the airwaves as a beloved radio personality on two stations in the Rio Grande Valley. An active member of the Texas chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammy’s), Beatriz Gonzalez is not only a voice for her culture but a leader shaping the future of regional Mexican music.

Keep your eyes—and ears—on Beatriz Gonzalez. She’s just getting started.
