Houston – Today on Houston Life, actor, author and comedienne Tiffany Haddish joined co-host Derrick Shore for a candid conversation about her latest project: “The Funny and Fearless Tour” which comes to the Heights Theater tomorrow night.
“The thing about tour is you forget what day of the week it is,” said Haddish of her dizzying schedule, which will keep her on the road through the end of August.
While in Houston, Haddish is also heading to Houston Public Library for a special story time of her inspiring children’s book, “Layla, The Last Black Unicorn” with themes of celebrating the power of storytelling and representation. The event also directly relates to Haddish’s SheReady Foundation, which inspires, protects and provides resources to youth impacted by foster care, a system she grew up in herself.
Haddish, who went from foster home to foster home while growing up in South Central Los Angeles, found comedy as an outlet.
“My social worker was like, ‘you’ve got two choices: you can go to the Laugh Factory Comedy camp, or you can go to psychiatric therapy,‘” Haddish explained of her road to the stage.
Catch “The Funny and Fearless Tour” Saturday, April 12th at the Heights Theater and keep up with Tiffany and her latest projects at TiffanyHaddish.com.
