🌊🌊 From sea to screen: Celebrate five years of underwater filmmaking in Houston

HOUSTON – The Houston Underwater Film Festival (HUFF) is back and making a splash for its 5th anniversary on April 12 and 13 at Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH).

With fifty-four films from twenty-nine countries, including six from Texas, HUFF showcases everything from underwater animation to environmental documentaries and even interpretive ballet celebrating marine life on the big screen.

This year, a new category, Macro, debuts, highlighting incredible close-ups of tiny marine life.

Launched in 2021 after a COVID delay, HUFF has grown into a beloved event in Houston’s arts scene. Run entirely by volunteers and supported by the Houston Underwater Photographic Society, it’s a global celebration of creative ocean storytelling.

Screenings start at 3 p.m. each day, and both nights end with raffles offering prizes like dive trips and underwater photography gear. Click here for tickets.

Bonus: Students majoring in marine life disciplines and film/media, plus college students working towards scuba certification, can receive free tickets.
