HOUSTON – Since the debut of her One of the Boys album in 2008, Katy Perry has sold more than 70 million albums and racked up a whopping 115 billion streams, making her the biggest-selling female artist in the history of Capitol Records. Katy’s first studio album, Katy Hudson, was released in 2001 under Red Hill Records.
Now, for the first time in more than seven years, the pop icon is hitting the road and heading out on tour. After the conclusion of her multi-year Las Vegas residency ‘Play,’ which was extended multiple times as a result of high ticket sales, Perry will hit four continents starting in April.
“Becoming a mother has actually brought a lot of balance to my life and a lot of routine, so that’s always really good, I am ready for it,” said Perry when asked about her grueling tour schedule, which includes 75 shows in cities across the globe.
‘The Lifetimes Tour’ will make its first U.S. tour stop in Houston on May 7th. Watch the full interview with Houston Life’s Derrick Shore to find out how motherhood has prepared Katy for her very busy year ahead.
