Historic building transformed into “The Carriage” Archery Club

Sawyer Yards, Houston, Texas – A historic building in Downtown Houston is getting a modern twist—becoming the city’s first archery lounge. The Carriage Archery Club opened in November. It’s the brainchild of two young entrepreneurs, Colin Legge and John David Johnson, who saw a growing demand for a safe, indoor space where people could enjoy archery while escaping the stresses of daily life.

The building, once home to American Express’s 19th-century carriage house, now offers a unique blend of archery and relaxation. The facility boasts 10 shooting lanes, a coffee bar, custom archery services, and membership options for individuals, families, and businesses. The lounge concept is perfect for corporate events, team building, or simply unwinding with friends.

As a passion project, The Carriage Archery Club aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for archery enthusiasts, with hopes of expanding to other cities in the future. Legge and Johnson’s goal is to share their love for the sport and make archery accessible to more people in Houston and beyond.

For those looking to try their hand at archery, the club offers an innovative membership experience, with easy access through an app-enabled fob. The Carriage Archery Club is not just about sport—it’s about creating a community centered around positivity and focus.
