Fitness expert Erica Hood helps women become their best selves through movement

HOUSTON – Growing up in Fort Worth, Erica Hood fell in love with dancing. This love led her to pursue a dance degree at Cal State Long Beach before moving to L.A. to dance professionally.

She taught at top fitness studios and trained some of the biggest Hollywood celebrities like Jennifer Garner, Julianne Hough, and model Rosie Huntington Whiteley. Not only that, but she was also a fitness model.

Hood’s joy in teaching others goes back to her childhood love of dance. According to Hood, “celebrating that childlike movement of, it doesn’t have to be perfect, it doesn’t have to be something that just about breaking your body…we can just celebrate being who we are, authentically ourselves. Embodying that truth and then just having fun with it. Bringing the music to life.”

Hood emphasizes her workouts on moving your body to feel active, discover happiness, and find self-love through physical activity. Her classes are known to be energetic. However, Hood dreamed of owning her studio, so she began training private clients, teaching classes across L.A., and starting a YouTube channel.

After gaining a large following, she created a health and wellness company in 2019, Hoodfit. And her slogan, ‘Rep Your Womanhood.’

Still living in L.A., she launched the Rep Your Womanhood series on February 28, 2020. However, due to COVID-19, Hood could not continue with the series.

But that did not stop Hood from growing her business. With more than 4.2 thousand YouTube subscribers, you can experience her upbeat workouts online. From high-energy dance to calming flow workouts, Hood inspires women through various fitness routines.

Hood now resides in Houston, empowering women everywhere.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Hood revives her Rep Your Womanhood fitness event this Saturday, March 23, and everyone is invited. She’ll kickoff with a 30-minute barre/pilates-style workout followed by an all-female panel discussion.
