As of March 7, 2022, KPRC 2 will no longer be tracking daily coronavirus statistics through its current articles, charts and graphics as it relates to the two-year pandemic starting in 2020. However, if there are new COVID-19 variants, upticks in cases or other newsworthy developments as it relates to the coronavirus, the station will begin a new effort to document the latest information and statistics.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has launched a dashboard aimed at tracking the distribution and administration of COVID-19 vaccines across the state.
According to the data, more than 30 million doses have been shipped across Texas as of March 2.

The charts below show how many of those doses have been administered across the state and how many doses have been allocated and administered in the Houston area.
Note: As of Nov. 4, DSHS has updated eligible population numbers to include 5-11-year-old children. This will result in lower percentages for fully vaccinated people.
Note: As of May 14, Texas Health and Human Services announced that it will no longer update weekly allocations due to the state having a sufficient supply of vaccines.
