Spring ISD looks for a new superintendent to shape the future of education

Group wants to help end violence in Spring ISD

The Spring Independent School District (Spring ISD) has officially opened its nationwide search for a new superintendent of schools.

This came after Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hinojosa announced last month her retirement after 10 years, ending her term on June 1. The district is seeking an educational leader who will drive student growth and achievement, promote equity-focused policies, and maintain operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary, student-centered leader with a proven track record of educational success. They will be committed to championing the academic, social, and emotional well-being of every student and supporting educators at every level.

The superintendent will serve as the district’s chief executive officer and educational leader, responsible for implementing board-adopted policies, setting strategic direction, and cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. This will help shape the future of Spring ISD and improve the district’s mission to provide an excellent education for all students.

To ensure a transparent and inclusive selection process, the Spring ISD Board of Trustees will host two town hall meetings and create a Superintendent Search Committee composed of district staff and community representatives.

The district will invite students, staff, families, and community members to remain engaged and informed throughout the search process. Qualified individuals interested in applying can view the full superintendent profile and submit their applications through the district’s official website.
