December usually brings quite the temperature swings for Houston and this week will be no different.
MONDAY: Shorts and flip-flops
Monday, we start in the upper 50s and 60s, but will quickly rise into the upper 70s and even some low 80s sprinkled in by the afternoon.
TUESDAY: Long pants and long sleeves
The first drop in temperatures is because of a strong cold front that will move through late Monday through Tuesday. No more 70s, we’re back into the 50s and 60s.
WEDNESDAY: Dig out the heavy winter coats
Dust off the parkas if you haven’t in a while as the cold air will plunge southward with a Canadian high-pressure center coming on Wednesday.
As winds die off and clear skies, the cold air will allow temperatures to crater into the mid-30s across metro Houston and near freezing and even some upper 20s across our northern counties! I wouldn’t be shocked to see some areas see their first Frost Advisories of the winter on Wednesday morning!
