Another strong cold front is expected to hit Houston tonight while most of us are sleeping.

Some storms could quickly turn severe, capable of producing large hail, damaging wind gusts of 40-60 mph, flash flooding, and even an isolated tornado. The tornado risk is low (2%), but it’s not zero — we saw what happened Monday, so we treat every threat seriously.

- Around 5 PM: Isolated thunderstorms possible north and northwest

- 10 PM Saturday night to 5 AM Sunday: Main line of strong/severe storms moves through — this is when the highest risk arrives and most of us will be asleep.
