Wednesday’s Rainfall:

We are tracking a coastal low coupled with a warm front that will ramp up our rain chances for Wednesday. The system is moving in from the south and will first bring chances for sprinkles and light showers to start the day but picking up around 9 am with the chance for heavier rain in the afternoon into the evening.

By the afternoon the warm front will have passed through leaving our area warm, breezy, humid and with decent rain chances. The tropical moisture streaming up from the Gulf will bring the possibility of some heavier downpours at times.

Right now it looks to mainly be showers but it is certainly possible we could see some thunderstorms, of which a few could be on the stronger side. For now the Storm Prediction Center does not have us under a risk for severe storms.

Wet roads will be possible through most of the day so plan on extra time on the roads. Widespread we can expect to see anywhere from half an inch to potentially 2″+ with a thunderstorm.

As we go overnight into Thursday our rain chances will stay present. Thursday will still see downpours, especially in the morning. Showers are likely with a few embedded thunderstorms possible.

In fact, we have rain chances on and off through next Monday. This will not be a washout, but you’ll want to keep the radar handy for any outdoor events. Over the next 7 days we could see up to 2-3 inches of rain across SE Texas.

10-day Forecast:

Rain chances increase late Tuesday night and will be elevated through the end of the week. We will have unsettled weather through the weekend. It does look like a strong cold front will move through next Monday. This cold front will finally clear out the rain and lower our temperatures.
