Lori Newman, a Tomball homeowner battling terminal breast cancer, was worried she wouldn’t make it from Tennessee to Houston for critical scans at MD Anderson because of travel delays tied to the government shutdown. After days of uncertainty, she made it back safely, just in time for her appointment, and says the experience renewed her hope to keep fighting.
