Anyone who has been to Mardi Gras! Galveston knows how much fun it can be, but with all the parades, live entertainment and food, it can be difficult to decide what to do during this two-week event, given all the options.

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the very best things to do and places to stay -- all of which your friends and family will love, too.

What to do

Pleasure Pier

Thrill-seekers, this one is for you! Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier has an exciting amusement park with 17 rides.

After you ride the Iron Shark roller coaster and take a spin on the Galaxy Wheel, there are plenty of family-friendly restaurants that will satisfy any craving. Not only is this place a blast, it’s also a time portal back to the early historic days of the Pier.

5D Theater Presents Shark!

Also at the Pleasure Pier will be a 5D theater ride where you can be witness to a prehistoric Megalodon shark attack with neat special effects. In addition, there will also be a theater ride called “The Mysterious Underworld” that will take through a dark and forgotten mine with special effects.

Where to stay

There are nearly endless options when it comes to finding a place for lodging on vacation. And when you’re done with Mardi Gras! Galveston and all the other extracurricular activities, you want a place that feels comfortable to rest.

It can be a difficult decision to make, especially if you’re going solely on online searches and reviews.

We’ve put together a list of places to lodge that are just the kind of place where you’ll want to rest at the end of your day:

If you want to do some relaxing before settling in for the night (or before the daytime festivities!), consider stopping by a spa to get a little TLC.

So, what do you say?

If you’re already getting pumped for all the celebrations, don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Grand Knights of Momus parade special that will air on KPRC 2 and stream on KPRC 2+ Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
