HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A former Harris County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for allegedly using his position as a law enforcement officer to have sexual encounters with nearly a dozen women he met while in uniform, according to court records.
Dohnya Dozier, 42, was arrested Thursday morning, records show. He’s charged with official oppression and attempted sexual assault.

During arrest, records show Dozier allegedly admitted to having sexual encounters with approximately 12 women he met while in uniform.
In March, the sheriff’s office confirmed to KPRC 2 News that Dozier was fired after an internal affairs investigation determined he violated policy. At the time, a criminal investigation was ongoing.
A law enforcement source tells KPRC 2 News the criminal investigation of Dozier started in 2025 after a woman came forward reporting an encounter with Dozier at a hotel. That led investigators to other possible victims.
In one case, a victim told investigators Dozier said he would not arrest her but later said he would arrest her, but the threat of arrest was not captured on body camera video, the source said.
“We do not need people wearing our badge doing this kind of thing,” the source said. “We hold each other accountable for what’s going on.”
State records show Dozier joined HCSO in March 2023.
Records show the sheriff’s office investigated the case. KPRC 2 News has reached out to HCSO for additional comment.
Authorities urge any possible victims to contact HCSO.
