The question is whether or not the city is moving from a scheduled-based heavy trash collection system to an appointment-based system. Houston Public Works says that has not happened.

“Heavy trash continues to be collected on a scheduled basis, with eligible residences assigned a collection day and receiving service every other month,” a statement from Houston Public Works reads in part.

Houston Public Works says residents can confirm their collection schedule by visiting HoustonSolidWaste.org or by using the HTX Collects mobile app.
