Investigators said the community played a major role in helping locate Patin.
Residents began calling in tips after an alert was issued, with officials describing the community as very responsive and vigilant.
One tip came from a resident who let their dogs outside and noticed the dogs barking. The caller believed someone could be hiding inside a shed near the wood line behind a nearby residence.
Investigators said Patin was believed to be inside the shed along the wooded area off West Brentwood.
District 3 units, U.S. Marshals and HCSO deputies responded to the location and made contact with the suspect.
Patin eventually came out of the shed and showed his hands. He was taken into custody without further incident.
People at a nearby residence were evacuated as a precaution. Officials said they do not know of any connection between Patin and the people who were inside the residence.

Patin was evaluated by EMS at the scene after being taken into custody.
Officials said he had been on the run all night.
He was later transported to the HCSO facility at 601 Lockwood for an interview.
Officials said Patin is facing three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.
Investigators said three deputies were present during the incident, but only one deputy was struck by gunfire.
According to Harris County court records, Patin had an active warrant for his arrest for bond forfeiture before Wednesday’s shooting.
Other court records show previous cases involving DWI, unlawful carrying of a weapon and drug-related offenses. Several of those cases were later dismissed or disposed of.
Probable cause court
Patin was supposed to appear in probable cause court Thursday night, but the judge said he was too combative to appear and for safety reasons he did not appear in the courtroom.
The judge said Patin’s bond would not be set at the hearing.
