HOUSTON – A Spring Branch homeowner who had been dealing with flooding problems for years says he can finally breathe easier after the city made major improvements to his street.
Paul Braddock lives in the 2200 block of Bauer Drive, where he previously dealt with flooding on his property caused by problems with irrigation and drainage.

According to Paul, the street had not been properly engineered to handle excessive water during heavy rains, forcing him to take matters into his own hands.
During our initial visit he highlighted the wall he built and pumps installed to protect his home from flooding.
A massive investment on his part, but he was still questioning when the city was going to make the necessary investments to his block after having been met with empty promises by the city for years.
Once 2 Helps You stepped in and started pressing the city, Braddock said significant changes were made, “Everything on both sides of the street are new and they are much larger.”
Braddock says the fix is a life changer, “The expectation now is that I can live comfortably without my home going to flood on any big rain,” he said.
Braddock said the city rapidly responded and did it’s job but he credited 2 Helps You with helping bring attention and securing a solution, “I couldn’t get something done in 2.5 years or 2 years and one phone call and one meeting with you got it done,” Braddock said.
It should be noted the changes went beyond drainage improvements as the city also added a parking lot near the park, making it easier for residents to access the playground.
