Texas had a pretty good summer, and apparently, so did Ella Langley.

Langley’s country hit “Choosin’ Texas” has officially been named Billboard’s No. 1 Song of the Summer for 2026, giving the Texas-inspired anthem the top spot on the publication’s annual summer ranking.

The song became a major hit as Langley continued to build momentum in country music, with its Texas-themed title and lyrics helping make it a natural soundtrack for road trips, summer nights and Lone Star State pride.

The No. 1 summer ranking comes during a breakout year for Langley.

Billboard previously highlighted the country singer as one of its 2026 Women in Music Powerhouses, pointing to the success of “Choosin’ Texas” and her growing presence in country music.

Langley has also collaborated with country superstar Miranda Lambert, adding to a year that’s helped cement her as one of the genre’s rising stars.

There’s no shortage of songs about Texas, but “Choosin’ Texas” managed to turn that familiar theme into one of the biggest songs of the summer.

So if you’ve had the song stuck in your head all summer, congratulations. You weren’t alone.
