Investigation underway after 2-year-old girl found dead at west Houston apartment

Houston police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl found unresponsive Saturday morning at an apartment on Ashford Point Drive.
Officers responded to a call around 7:50 a.m. about an unresponsive child. Authorities say the child was transported to the hospital where she were later pronounced dead.
The child’s identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
