Kerr County flood update: 3 still missing; 107 deaths confirmed, including 37 children

The Kerr County Flood Disaster Joint Information Center has confirmed that three people are still missing following the catastrophic and deadly July 4th flood.

Officials also confirmed that, as of Saturday, there have been 107 deaths in Kerr County, including 70 adults and 30 children.

Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring Jr. released the following statement:

“We are profoundly grateful to the more than 1,000 local, state, and federal authorities who have worked tirelessly in the wake of the devastating flood that struck our community,” said Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice. “Thanks to their extraordinary efforts, the number of individuals previously listed as missing has dropped from over 160 to three.”

“This remarkable progress reflects countless hours of coordinated search and rescue operations, careful investigative work, and an unwavering commitment to bringing clarity and hope to families during an unimaginably difficult time,” Rice added.

Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly said, “To every member of law enforcement, fire and rescue, emergency management, and supporting agencies — thank you. Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion have brought comfort and answers to so many.”

“Our thoughts remain with the families still awaiting news, and we will continue to stand with them as efforts persist.”

Recovery operations will continue throughout the Guadalupe River watershed, with local, state, national, and international search teams working to reunite the missing with their families.
