KATY, Texas – A Harris County Sheriff’s Office aircraft is responsible for catching a suspect who buried a loaded gun after breaking into vehicles in the Katy area Thursday morning.
Around 2 a.m., deputies responded to reports of two suspects breaking into cars at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Greenhouse Road.

When deputies arrived, both suspects took off running. One of the suspects was almost immediately caught with a loaded gun on him, while the second suspect managed to jump a fence and get away.
The HCSO deployed its aircraft ABLE 4 to search for the second suspect and spotted him burying a weapon before attempting to hide in a backyard.

Deputies, with the assistance of a K9, eventually found the second suspect and took him into custody.
Both suspects are now facing multiple charges, including evading arrest and unlawful carrying of firearms. One of them is also facing a drug-related charge.
