The documents allege a 40-year-old woman was in the same aisle with Fontenot at the dollar store. Fontenot allegedly had his genitals exposed. The woman said he did not make eye contact with her, but she quickly looked away and went and told a store employee.
The woman was able to get the make and model vehicle as well as the license plate number and it came back to Fontenot.
In a photo lineup, the documents say the woman was able to identify Fontenot as the suspect.
KPRC 2 captured Fontenot in court today. His attorney said he was declining to comment, and records show he is out on bond.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office told KPRC 2 that Fontenot has been working in a normal capacity in the months since the arrest warrant was issued on April 9. HCSO said it was unaware of the situation until Fontenot’s arrest.
HCSO also provided the following statement:
Good morning. Michael Fontenot was relieved of duty on July 13 and temporarily assigned to an administrative role with no law enforcement duties. The sheriff’s office administrative disciplinary committee will review the evidence gathered during an ongoing an internal affairs division investigation to determine whether further action, including possible termination, is warranted.
