Spring break fun rolling in: These are just some of the events for kids of all ages to enjoy at Discovery Green

HOUSTON – Spring break has officially started, and there are a lot of events waiting for you across the Houston area.

Discovery Green is hosting a weeklong of events for kids, teenagers and adults to enjoy.

DaCamera Dinky Drums Workshop

When and Where: Starting from Monday, March 13, 2023, to Friday, March 17, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to noon, located at Jones Lawn, the largest green space in Discovery Green.

What: “Drummer and educator Sam Dinkins III presents a free drumming workshop for people of all ages. Sam Dinkins, III is the founder and director of Houston’s Dinky Drum Company, where children and adults learn about percussion through private and group instruction, performances and clinics. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he is an accomplished performer and producer. This workshop is presented in partnership with DACAMERA.”

Nueva Luna and More: Performances at Spring Break

When and Where: Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Anheuser-Busch Stage outdoor concert venue.

What: Folklore dance is coming to you. “Performances by Nueva Luna Ballet Folklorico, J Dance Company, Whitesburg Baptist Church High School Choir – Huntsville, Alabama and more!”

Gentle Yoga Flow and Sound Meditation

When and Where: Tues, March 14, 2023, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Jones Lawn with panoramic views.

A chance to strengthen the body, mind and finding our center with dynamic yoga, flow sequences and sound healing with Farida Meguid and Saumil Manek. The classes are free, but in order to participate, you have to register on site and don’t forget your towel, water and the most important thing of all a yoga mat.

Lee’s Golden Dragon and more at spring break

When and Where: Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Anheuser-Busch Stage.

What: “Cultural performances by Lee’s Golden Dragon, Dance of Asian America and more”

HIIT class with FitMix

When and Where: Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Hess Patio Deck with shade included.

A challenging bodyweight interval training class with the goal of burning calories while gaining endurance, strength and motivation to continue. If you’re up for the challenge, grab those sneakers and get ready to jump, dance and run your way to a healthier you. Classes will be free with registration being required on site. Don’t forget your towel. Yoga mat and most importantly: water.

Jurassic Extreme Houston Dinosaurs

When and Where: Thursday, March 16, 2023, from noon – 2:00 p.m., at Anheuser-Busch Stage.

What: Bring your kids to take cool pictures with these awesome realistic dinosaurs before the Bank of America’s screen on the Green movie.

Jurassic World Dominion: Bank of America’s Screen on the Green

When and Where: Thurs, Mar 16, 2023, from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Anheuser-Busch Stage.

What: Pack a picnic and blankets to enjoy this family movie with real life look dinosaurs for the real experience.

Black Panther: Bank of America’s Screen on the Green

When and Where: Fri, Mar 17, 2023, from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. at Anheuser-Busch Stage.

What: A picnic family date with a cool family movie on superhero Black Panther.

FUNomenal Friday at The Rink

When and Where: Fri, Mar 17, 2023, from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the skating rink.

What: Enjoy music by DJ Monstaa, a cool light show and roller skate with your friends for FUNomenal Fridays. The last day to enjoy the outdoor roller rink.
